New York City Police Can’t Spell No Good
After a recent murder at the New York City nightclub Duvet, the NYPD shut the place down. They taped three court orders to the door. Public notices of court orders, being official documents and all, you might expect the cop filling them out to know how to spell. If you did, you’d be wrong:

Marihuana? Maybe in Mexico.
Subtances?

They should be able to spell Marijuana, but it looks to me like they correctly spelled substances. The image is pretty poor quality though.

You do realize that “marihuana” is an alternative spelling of “marijuana”, don’t you?

wow. you caught the police in a misspelling of a word by one letter. you must be so fucken superior to take on a smug tone like that.

It was commonly spelled marihuana in this country during the first half of the 20th century. There’s even the 1937 Marihuana Tax Act that started all this stupidity in the first place.
So I this cop’s either from south of the border, a time traveler, or just failed his sixth-grade spelling tests.

This is ridiculous. If you zoom in on the picture you can make out the second “s” in substances. Also there’s nothing wrong with spelling marijuana CORRECTLY, as marihuana. All this post is doing is making me want to stay away from the rest of the presumably braindead content on this site. As if mocking the police was still cool. Hope enough kids from junior high digg your article!
