Fox News Reports on Jenkem AKA Butt Hash

Jenkem is a hallucinogenic recreational drug composed of noxious gas formed from fermented human sewage.[1] Jenkem emerged amongst Zambian street children some time before the mid-1990s. In November 2007, anecdotes were widely repeated in the American media which gave the impression that Jenkem was a popular drug taking hold with American teenagers. Media reportage was characterized by disbelief and distaste for the “grossness” of the phenomenon. However, several sources are alleging that these reports are based on a hoax. Since November no new reports have appeared to corroborate the early speculations.
